Red Panda

Description
In this final piece of The Fading Broadcast series, the Red Panda is shown carefully tuning an old radio, surrounded by a vintage book and video cassettes tools through which it seeks updates on conservation efforts. Once widespread across the temperate forests of the Himalayas, Red Panda populations are now estimated at fewer than 10,000 mature individuals, primarily threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation. The painting reflects the Red Panda’s quiet vigilance, its attempts to “receive” news symbolizing the species’ desperate need to be seen, heard, and protected. Every element the radio, the book, the cassettes becomes a metaphor for communication delayed, survival imperiled, and the urgent responsibility of humans to respond before these voices fade entirely. It is a reminder that these creatures are breathing, living, and waiting for action; their plight requires attention, care, and immediate intervention.
